--All the REALLY important stuff starts about mid-way through this journal--

So, I am officially a published artist!!

Well, actually, I don't know if that's what it is, but it feels that way to me!

I just had my self portrait published on the front cover of a magazine that is distributed across the province of BritishColumbia. The magazine is called "Adminfo"

I'm going to admit, it looks a little funny since they had to squish it a bit to make it fit on the cover, but when I get it back (The self portrait is being displayed in a district art show until the end of June ) I'll be sure to get it properly scanned and uploaded!

Speaking of the art show, I did a beautiful watercolor painting of a barn owl that is also being displayed there until June, so once I get that back I'll be sure to have it posted ^^

Also...

I'm going to be going to Calgary for the 15th or perhaps a few days later. Why?
OTAFEST!!
Otafest is basically an anime convention. I went to it three years ago and I'm so exited to do it again this year!
I'll be entering the cosplay contest with my lovely Deidara cosplay, and perhaps entering an art contest as well... but I need feedback!

I was considering doing volunteer work. Basically what I would be doing is this:
I would pick a day (Either 18th, 19th or 20th where I would share shifts with other artists and take sketch commissions for 5.00$ each. The money all goes to a charity (Otafest is supporting an animal shelter this year)
Do you think I should resister?

Also, another update regarding activity:

After going to Calgary for Otafest,I have made plans to stay in Alberta for the month of June, and from there, possibly the remainder of the summer. I HAVE NO INTERNET ACCESS THERE unless I use public computers.
On top of that, I will be pushing to finish school online, as well as starting a job. ,,

COME SEPTEMBER
I will be moving to Vancouver...

I have no idea what happens then, but basically I will have until October to get used to living in a new city on my own. (Scary right? Jackel's growing up)

And for aprox. two years, I will be attending the art institute of Vancouver in the animation art and design program.
